J is for Joey

My name is Joey. 20 years old. I live in Burquitlam, BC.

I'm a weird little girl who's obsessed with pretty things and tv shows. Blogging helps me cope with stress. I love food and arts & crafts, so you'll find a lot of that on my blog. You'll also find a lot of Norman Reedus, because he is my favourite actor and he is just super awesome.

This year is the year I make a change in my life and try out new things, so stay tuned for more on that.

CUTETAPE GIVEAWAY POST ☆〜(ゝ。∂)

I’d like to start off this post by saying hi to everyone reading this. This post will serve as an entry for the cutetape giveaway, as well as provide information for those of you who don’t know what cutetape or washi tape is. Oh, and I’d also like to say thanks for taking the time to read my entry!

So now that that’s out of the way, let’s get on to the actual post~

What is cutetape?

  • cutetape is a great little website that sells a variety of arts and crafts supplies. Some of the supplies cutetape carries includes stamps, stickers, tags, twine, and of course, washi tape.

cutetape is currently one of my favourite online shops to shop at for washi tape because it offers cute tape designs at an affordable price. Because washi tapes are mostly made in Japan and are hard to find (well, at least in Canada anyway), they are usually pretty pricey and it can cost a lot if you’re looking to start a collection. Online shops usually sell their tapes for more than $4 a roll, but at cutetape, you can get a roll for just $4 (with the exception of special patterns). cutetape also offers different shipping options, so if you’re in a rush to get your order, you have a choice of paying more for faster shipping. And here’s a special little treat for members: a reward point system that allows you to collect a point for every dollar you spend, which is nice. Every 50 points gets you $1 off your purchase, but you’d need at least 150 points to start redeeming the discount. It might take a while to redeem the discount, but it’s a lot better than getting nothing. My advice is to just keep shopping until you get to those points!

What is washi tape?

  • “Washi” is traditional Japanese paper made from the inner barks of certain trees found in Japan. So washi tape is basically tape made from washi. Also, washi tape is a form of masking tape.

The thing I love about washi tape is that it comes in lots of different styles and patterns, which makes using and collecting them so much fun! And while I love the different styles and patterns, what I love most about the tapes is the feel of it. They’re not as rough or thick as making tapes, and they have more of a glossy sheen to them. They also look amazing on paper and on just about any surface you can think of sticking them on. They are definitely worth the buy, and a must have for card making, gift wrapping and scrapbooking.

What I would do if I won the giveaway:
  • If I won the giveaway, I would buy the MT Kamoi Masking Tape Book. I’ve had my eye on that book for a while now, and it looks like a great book to own. It looks like it’s got tons of project ideas that I would love to try out, and the fact that it’s all in english and is put together by hand makes me want to own it even more! And of course, I’d also get more washi tapes to add to my growing collection~

And that’s the end of my post. Thanks again for taking the time to read this! :D
